Ragu with Albacore Tuna Flakes


(Serves 2 – 4)

1 jar Ocean Naturals Albacore Flakes with Jalapeno & Piquillo Peppers
1 Tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
¾ cup Sliced Red Onion
6 Whole Garlic Cloves Crushed
¼ tsp Red Chili Flakes
1 cup Marinara Sauce
½ cup Basil
4oz Dried Fettuccini


Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

Then, heat a large sauté pan on medium high heat. Once the pan is hot, add olive oil, onion, garlic and sauté until light golden brown. Once the onions are nicely caramelized, add marinara sauce, chili flakes and basil, turn off heat.

Cook the pasta per package instructions. When you pasta in ready, add to your pan of tomato sauce. Turn the heat back on to medium setting, add the tuna and gently toss all ingredients together. Once the sauce starts to simmer turn off the heat. If your pasta sauce seems a little thick, you can always add a splash of water. Add salt to taste and garnish with some fresh basil and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
