New England Style Chowder with Ocean Naturals® Albacore Solid Tuna


(Serves 2)
Prep/Cook time: 25-35 minutes

1 can Ocean Naturals Albacore Solid Tuna in Olive Oil
1 cup Brown Onion Diced
3 garlic Cloves Chopped
½ cup Smoked Bacon Cut in Strips
¾ cup Leeks Sliced
¾ cup Yukon Gold Potato Diced
2 cups Heavy Cream
1 cup Clam Juice
1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1 tbsp Unsalted Butter
1 tbsp Flour


Heat a medium to large saucepan on medium high heat. Add olive oil, onion, bacon and garlic, then reduce heat to low and cook for 5-6 minutes.

Next, add butter. When butter is melted, sprinkle in the flour and mix well. Next, add leeks, potato, cream and clam juice. Turn heat back up, while stirring bring to simmer then reduce heat to low and cover and cook for 10-12 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.

To finish, remove pan from heat and mix in the tuna and season with salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with some fresh thyme, croutons or chili oil if you like.
